So Many Great Things Happening, Pre-Trip to Spain!

Hello, SPAIN!!!  I can't wait to meet you in 4 and a half weeks!

I'm so excited to be on this adventure.  I've had so many wonderful adventures in my life, but this one is different.  I've made traveling a priority in my life, I love it.  As Sarah Cannon says, it's not "luck" that has me traveling, it's hard work, goal-setting, and lots of education that gets me there.  Anyway, this trip is different.  I'm leading this trip.  There are 21 educators who are following me to Spain.  Wow.  This is big.  It better be good!  I'm excited for me, but I'm even more excited for everyone else who's coming along with me.  I want them to be happy, to enjoy, and to learn so much to bring back to students and adults, as well.

In December, Maura Bulman, Department Head of Foreign Language at Marshfield High School came to our Spain meeting and shared so many things with us about what to see, expect, eat, etc.  She was wonderful.  She has traveled to Spain over 20 times and is so passionate about the country.  She gave us names of novels to read that are set in Barcelona, told us great museums to venture into, and told us a few places to get the best churros in Madrid!  Maura was inspiring!

In January, Sarah Cannon, Middle School Teacher in Weymouth, came to another Spain meeting to talk with us all about her adventures as an educator to several countries and shared wonderful ways to bring travel and culture from these trips back to our students.  She started out taking a trip like this, through EF Tours, which is our tour company, and has branched out in so many directions in her travel and bringing amazing experiences to students of Weymouth.  Again, a very inspiring woman.

So, with a lot of work and a lot of planning, we are almost there!
